Why I Built AgentForge: A Founder's Letter to Every Indian Seller
The real, unedited origin story of AgentForge AI — how a request for shirt mockups from Bhavin at Shree Ganesh Textile in Bhiwandi became India's first AI catalogue platform built for textile, jewellery and D2C sellers.
By AgentForge Founder · 5 April 2026
Before I write a single feature page or pitch deck, I want every Indian seller reading this to know the real story behind AgentForge. It did not start in a boardroom. It started with one shirt manufacturer in Bhiwandi who could not afford the mockups he needed.
The conversation that started everything
Bhavin runs Shree Ganesh Textile in Bhiwandi. Men's shirts — formal, casual, party-wear, full sleeves, half sleeves, every collar and every cut. The kind of operation that survives on speed: design, sample, drop, repeat. A few months ago, he was looking for someone who could give him good mockups — visuals he could send to wholesalers on WhatsApp the same day a fabric arrived. Not next week. Not after a model shoot. Same day.
The quotes he was getting back were impossible for a mid-sized shirt manufacturer to absorb. Studio fees, model bookings, post-production rounds, repeat shoots if the colour was slightly off. For a category where margins are tight and drops happen weekly, a ₹40,000–₹80,000 photoshoot per collection is not a marketing expense. It is a barrier.
He told me, very simply: 'There should be something that turns a fabric photo directly into a mockup. Build it.' That was the brief. One sentence. From one shirt manufacturer who knew exactly what the industry needed and could not find it anywhere.
Bhavin's problem is everyone's problem
I started showing early prototypes to other textile manufacturers across Bhiwandi, Surat, Ludhiana, Ahmedabad and Tirupur. Saree wholesalers. Kurti brands. Knitwear factories. The story was identical everywhere. Photography was the single biggest bottleneck between a designer's idea and a customer's WhatsApp screen. The brands with deep capital could ship daily. Everyone else lost orders waiting for photos.
Then I looked at the jewellery side — bridal, daily-wear, kundan, gold. Same pattern. Then productography — cosmetics, perfume, home decor, electronics. Same pattern. Same gap. Indian sellers were not losing to better products. They were losing to better photography budgets.
Existing AI image tools were not the answer. They were built for Western catalogues, Western fabrics, Western faces. They did not understand a saree drape. They did not know what an article code overlay was. They did not have a WhatsApp 1080×1080 preset because their builders did not know WhatsApp is how Indian wholesale actually moves. There was a real, urgent, India-specific gap with no India-first solution.
“The best designs in India were losing to inferior designs that had bigger photography budgets. That is not a fair fight. That is a capital problem dressed as a creative problem.”
What we set out to build
AgentForge is not a generic AI tool with an Indian flag on it. From day one, the brief was narrow and specific — build something that a Bhiwandi shirt manufacturer, a Surat saree wholesaler, a Jaipur jewellery brand and a Bangalore D2C founder can all open on Monday morning and use without training. Something that understands men's shirt fits, saree drapes, kundan settings, perfume bottle lighting, article code overlays, WhatsApp-square outputs and INR pricing. Built from scratch, for the way Indian sellers actually work.
What's launching on 3 June 2026
On 3 June 2026, AgentForge AI goes live for every Indian seller. Three industry-specific studios — TextilePrints to Mockup AI, Jewellery AI Studio, and Productography AI. Each one trained, prompted and presented for one specific kind of Indian product. Upload, generate, done. The same workflow a shirt drop in Bhiwandi needs is the same workflow a saree drop in Surat needs is the same workflow a bridal jewellery campaign in Jaipur needs.
